West Academic eBook and Print Discount Options

As a West Academic Assessment school, FIU Law students receive ebooks at a 45% discount off the print price of a book.

To take advantage of this discount, students should visit West Academic Assessment, create an account with their FIU Law @fiu.edu student email address, and verify that account via email from West Academic. Current FIU Law students who have previously created a West Academic account through our West Academic Study Aids can sign in to West Academic Assessment utilizing their previously-created credentials so long as that account used your @fiu.edu student email.

eBooks

Once the student's account is verified, they can select the ebooks they would like to purchase, and the discount will be applied automatically. West Academic eBooks adopted by FIU Law Faculty will be loaded in the system and will display in the available items to purchase and add to your bookshelf. If you do not see the book as provided in the FIU Law Booklist, it has not yet been loaded by West Academic; your patience is appreciated. 

Print Books

Students who have purchased an ebook can also purchase a "print-on-demand" softcover edition of their selected books, priced at the cost of printing and shipping; delivery could take over two weeks. NOTE on Statutory Supplements: West Academic ebook is only economical if you are only purchasing the ebook. If you want print + ebook, there is a 15% off discount using FIULAW code at the West Academic store. Calculate your costs and relative savings before making your purchase.

New to FIU Law Students

Your West Academic Assessment access will be available after you are registered with FIU Law.

Steps

NOTE: Through the Early eBook Access Program, all students have complementary access for the first 14 days of the semester to adopted West Academic books. Access will automatically terminate on the 14th day, at which point purchase using the discount below will be required to maintain access to your ebook; if your professor has adopted print only, you must purchase print to comply with their adoption requirement, see the Booklist for details.

Steps to Take Advantage of West Academic ebook Discount:

1. To take advantage of the e-book discount, interested students should create accounts at West Academic Assessment.
   1. Any ebooks purchased will appear in the top section of their e-bookshelf.
   2. eBooks available for discounted purchase to FIU Law students will appear in your bookshelf - with a price banner on the book’s image - in a separate section. Students can click on the image to purchase. Once loaded, the ebook will move to the student’s ebooks at the top of the page in their e-bookshelf.
2. Students purchasing print-on-demand books can do so at the same time as purchasing the ebook, or, depending on the adoption format required by their professor, purchase print-on-demand at a later time. NOTE that print-on-demand could take over two weeks from the time of order to receive.

Do not finalize your purchase until you see the discount applied. If the discount isn't appearing then there is an issue. Please see the phone number for support listed below.

West Academic does not load our books as quickly as we publish the Booklist (see above). Wait for it! New publications will be indicated on the Booklist with tentative publication dates; it is typical that new editions are released after the first day of the Fall semester due to FIU Law's academic calendar beginning mid-August.
