Thank you for contacting FIU Law Library!

If you cannot access your Cap Press titles after following the instructions below, please Ask a Law Librarian. Also, FIU Law users have access to the Understanding series titles through Lexis Digital Libraries; no need to utilize the Cap Press benefit below. Below is the message received from Carolina Academic Press:

-----

Most Carolina Academic Press titles are available for affected students via the VitalSource Helps program. Their program (VitalSource Helps) will allow affected students to access their ebooks on the VitalSource platform for free through May 25!

Students just have to create a VitalSource BookShelf account if they don't already have one and use their SCHOOL EMAIL ADDRESSES to login (the VST software will check the email address to confirm students are at an affected school before allowing free access, so it won't work if they use gmail or something like that). Here's the link to the BookShelf login page:https://bookshelf.vitalsource.com/#/user/signin

Once you create an account and log in they should see an "Explore" tab in the upper left corner of the screen. From there, they should be able to find your ebook to access. (If you already have a VitalSource account, you could log in as normal. Use "Explore" tab," too, and go from there.)

This was just launched on Monday, so it's all pretty new. Students shouldn't have to put in credit card information to access their books.

If you are prompted to purchase, please Ask a Law Librarian.

Cheers,

FIU Law Library
